Hi, today i came with a special request and since i heard a few users assuming that it's possible you can actually downgrade from any PS3 firmware using the PS3ToolUpdater.self based off from the PS3 official SDK Files and stuff? Thanks! DSwizzy p.s If you don't want this information to spread like wild fire i suggest for pms about it instead and i'll be much obligate to take it down off this part of the threads
Anyone?! Please? At least either if you know it or don't know, at least one answer would be nice not bein rude
bump!! i have another request does anyone by anychance have or heard of a PS3DECRUpdateData.400.001 please if possible desperately need one asap. thanks!!
You will need a dongle (jig) for that, it changed + you can't get out of service mode on new devices if your attemp fails. And about the 400 updater, it is singed to work on 3.x cause it is a updater, not a downgrader. The TOOLS it is used for are not designed for crossgrades like PS3 TEST ist. Hope this helps. Summary: No Jig, No Trick
@Sam hex thanks man! i apogise for having you to help me everytime :/ but i always appericate the great details you give to me so again the 400 SDK can ''Only" work on 3.xx fws correct? So i assume i'll have to wait for a 4.01 SDK then? Thank you!!
Also to add to my comment, do you happen to have a pic of their (jig) dongle? And i thought these were able to also downgrade too i believe when i read their updater readme for it?
The old jig was what was used for jailbreak, basicly it is just some dongle with a special ID to set the ps3 into facotry service mode. The service manuals for PS3 are around the net if the procedure in a repaircenter and jig usage is interesting for you. They were leaked aages ago along the service manuals for BD drives, boards etc. The old jig can be made with a teensy board or similar yourself. But beware newer than 3.56 firmware are unrecoverable stuck in service mode if you once pushed them into it. There is no really known method to get out of it again. If your idea is not working you will sort of brick your ps3 permanent. To do anything useful on new firmware you will also need a updated jig for which there is no blueprint around, that will possibly bring up even worse oddities if tinkering around at > 3.56.
Oh I understand now, so to certain is that i'll need a new jig id # so for it too be able to downgrade/out of service mode and such like that?
