A friend of mine got his PS4 today, and I wanted to record some footage of the system with my Elgato Game Capture HD, but it doesn't seem to want to work. I couldn't find much concrete information about the subject online, so I was wondering if anyone here has tried to capture anything or knows what the official word is on this? The best thing I could find was on the official Elgato website, saying a future update may be needed to allow capturing of game footage.

Thanks in advance for any info!

EDIT: Nevermind, I did a more general search and found out what I needed to know-- HDMI capture isn't available yet, but will be in a future update.

PS4 (like PS3) has HDCP turned on for HDMI.

If you want to use the HDMI to capture you'll need to purchase a HDCP stripper.

Or you could use the PS4's inbuilt video capture..

There are some HDMI signal splitters 1 input / 2 output that will break HDCP.

Look for a brand named Sewell. This one breaks HDCP.
