    P5B MoBo + GeForce 8800 GT PROBLEM!

I own a P5B (the basic model, not the S/L/Deluxe ver). I bought a GeForce 8800 GT graphic card and I have a problem: the computer hangs right after the windows logo (I have winxp proffesional edition). After spending hours on doing lots of different drivers reinstalls etc I probably found the problem - GeForce 8800 GT is desined for PCI EXPRESS 2 and I only have PCI EXPRESS slot avialable on my MoBo. I'm writing this from windows emergency mode and since it boots and all I'm asumming that this mode is FORCING the card to run in PCI EXPRESS mode. I cannot change that setiing in the emergency mode sadly so I'm f*cked... Is there a way to set it in BIOS? The only options for PnP devices regarding PCI EXPRESS slots are latency, IRQ, etc but nothing usefull... Maybe there is a way to do it by switching some jumpers on the graphic card (my manual doesn't feature this)? The graphic card has been tested on on a IDENTICAL system like mine except the other system's MoBo is P5B Deluxe.

Other info that might help: GeForcer 8800 GT requires an additional power suply which makes 105 W max, I own a 400 W adaptor, maybe that's the problem?

The 8800GT runs fine on older PCI-E 16x. It should work. How powerful is your Power supply?

    Try the following:

    -Update BIOS (do this first)
-Make sure all connectors are in tight and sound
-Run MemTest on your RAM (if it fails, replace it)
-Run a hardware diagnostic on the hard drive.

Thanks man! I bought a 500 W adaptor and it works fine, guess 400 W wasn't enough and my manufacturer was wrong stating that the graphic card would only take up to 105 W!
