Hello everything, I established to PSBBN 0.32 with English translation (transfer not from Richi902) on the PS2 SCPH-50008 and decided to transfer on it some video, audio and images for dough, but I had 2 questions:
    1: what formats are supported?
2: in what way it there can be transferred everything?

look at my blog post about "Movie Downloader" it will let you import PSS/PSM movies, and JPEG/JPG/BMP, and i think PNG pictures.

    here you go:
    http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/entry.php?40-MovieDownloader-for-PS-BBN

it is actually fairly easy :).

thanks for the answer but I still had still questions:
1:what program I can converting films in a PSS format?
2:whether there is a restriction on the size of files?
3:what formats of audio of files are supported and how them to transfer?

the videos and photos are stored on the same partition "__contents" which is 5,1GB in size as i can remember.
there lots tutorial out there on how to encode your video in PSS, but they have to be NTSC format(30fps?).

and music stored in a seperate 5,1GB partition. but how silly sony was, it dosent use a compressed audio format,
so 1 cd will take away about 500MB-600MB, which is pretty lame.
on the newest PS-BBN music can only be transferred via the CD-Drive, "officialy",
but i'm pretty sure you can edit the music database, and add the music files then in the music partition,
via smb or something like that, maybe it also support some other formats, i didint tried it yet, because i'm lazy :p.

I'm "cooking" a new version of the "ev" uLE based on 4.42b which will allow full access to "__contents" partition, in addition to all the features the original 4.42b has added to it.

that is I can download all media files directly in the section __ contents and PSBBN will see the added files? if so that it is just fine, but there is a question, files it is necessary to lay down simply in a root of the section or to display according to certain folders? and when there is a new uLE version? :smile-new:

The new uLE is ready, but I have some issues with the display shortcuts (button shapes are showing as numbers instead of shapes, I think that's a problem with 4.42b not with my changes, though).

If that does not bother you, here it is:
    View attachment 3730

    Edit:

This ule is called "ev" (evil) for a reason:

    - Let you add/delete/rename any APA partition on your drive but "__mbr".
    - Let you browse password locked (SONY) partitions
    - Let you do all stuff normal 4.42b let you do and has all fixes (like for example VMC support and has SCPH-10000 kernel fixes)

I just added "__contents" to it's list of white listed partitions (It does not allow access for it or any other "__xxxx" partition that is not white-listed so please don't go creating random "__xxxxxx" partitions as you won't be able to use them.

That won't work, because you need to add them to the database first.

But, you can add other png/jpg images to replace icons used by ps-bbn.
Copy the new icon into "__contents", and redirect the pathname for the icons to the "__contents"
partition in the coressponding XML file

    @l_oliveira
And thanks for the new ule.
but As I understand, I cannot copy files into "__contents"?

Try that new one, the old one would not show __contents on the HDD access menu, only on the partitions manager. This new one should show __contents as a accessible partition.

the one i have from you (4.40h) can access __contents pretty fine.
but i also have a 4.40ev i think.....but i dont use that one, is that the one you were talking about?.

i'll use your new one soon, when i can get myself to do the injecting......:p

but anyway, do you happen to know how to change the first default savepath to "pfs:__common/Your Saves/ule" or something like that?
i already checkd around the source but my knowledge is pretty weak..:p
i cant get a ule enviormeant working, i'm also kinda scared ruining my OPL one...
saving to hdd would be pretty great, i dont really understand why they never added that default "sony" path to the save locations.

    I made 440_h 440_ev and this new one 442b_ev

The first two versions are full of problems.

The rename bug where it eats one character from the filename when you rename a file was solved on 442b_ev, for example.

Well, it's not such a big mistake, eaten a symbol is not difficult to restore. The main thing is that everything else works fine.:smile-new:

as i said earlier, their are many tutorials out there.

you need to use atleast 2 or 3 different tools,
first split video and audio, convert the audio into WAV.
then use a tool to convert the video in the right format, cant remember what exactly, MPEG? but it has to be NTSC(30fps, i belive) to make it work with PS-BBN.
and then use sony's ps2str to combine the video and audio into a pss.
