    hi,

dose someone have some information about the "PSML Page Development Tool Release 1.0"?

according to a pdf i have, this was used to develope BB-Navigator channels.
i guess it's pretty hard to come by, since just a few channels were ever made.

would be nice to play around with it......:p

richi902, I assume the pdf is the introduction to the PSBBN from one of the dev conferences, right?
The PSML sdk should have been in the hands of the 7 or so companies producing PSBBN channels.

Psml pages are just xml files, the real issue are the script for the animations, they are compiled and encrypted,
I don't think the released PSBBN can execute unencrypted scripts.
There are a lot of script sources in the Hudson Channel backup, did I share it with you (I can't remember...).

yeah, thats from the introduction pdf
i read about that encrypted and un-encrypted scripts too, these scripts DO actualy tell the PSBBN to do certain things,
the xml files i think are just for the menus.
i remember that you once said you had a (complete?) backup off the hudson channel, i dont have it.
it might be intresting to look at it.

yeah i know, i customized my PSBBN "Top Menu", i added direct links to the Game, Photo, Music channel, to skip that stupid channel selection animation, and i moved the koei channel to a sub menu in the settings menu.but i would also like to add the
webbrowser to the top menu or settings menu, but i think that is a little bit harder to
do......i would need to know how the network settings dialog is calling the webbrowser.

the main reason for me to get my hands on the PSML(or maybe a channel dump) would be to investigate/experiment with, movie downloads.

PSBBN would be/is atleast a "light" media center for the ps2, which can aslo directly
start games and homebrew ;), well not as good as the XBMC....PSBBN would still need a filebrowser or something.

did anyone ever try to mirror one of the PSBBN channels?
i made a mirror of the KOEI and BB-Guide channels on a webserver, but PSBBN always gives me error "-90003"
when i try to access them. i made a custom system_ETC-top.xml to connect to them using the domain of the webserver, and also specified the "index.xml" or "main.xml".
but when i host the channel on my local computer and use DNS redirect, so PSBBN thinks the channel on my PC would be the real one on the internet, then it works no prolem.
are they protected so they cant be hosted on other domains easily?

DNAS. They actually thought people would try what you're trying to do.

It might be easy to "fool" or bypass by modern standards hacking, though. Think about how it's standard was developed in 2001. ;)

yep, everthing worked! thank you again! i'm planning on writing a english tutorial about it.

getting samba to work is a mess, its starting on boot up now but writing big files still gives me a strange error message which i cant really desolve what is cause the problem.

its just very AKWARD when your used to modern ubuntu lol. oh and i already translated all the xml files into "BASIC ENGRISH" thank god for google translator.

Don't forget to share the compiled kernel as well.
I'll upload the Hudson channel dump and other dumped files (like the PSBBN updates) during the week-end.
