Hey all, I have two PSOne (slim) consoles on hand right now which have two different issues, it's been a few weeks since I've worked on them but I thought I'd throw the issues I'm having up on here and see if anyone has any recommendations. I've scanned the boards on each system and they both seem to look just fine, I've already tried different power supplies and different video output cables.

Console 1 - Powers on, has no A/V output or has poor video output. I've gone in and resoldered the points on the video output port on the bottom of the console, still seems to have the same issue. On the two screens I've tried there is no sign of video output and no audio, when I tried it at a friend's game shop it was a black and white super unstable and static filled screen. Can't recall if there was any audio or not.

Console 2 - No power on this. I was hoping this would be an easy fix, what I did was resoldered the points on the bottom of the board that were for the power input port and the power button but nothing going on. I've also checked continuity (although I'm not the best with a multimeter) and it all seems to match Console 1 which has power but no a/v.

GAH! I really wish the PSOne was set up like the original PlayStation, if that was the case I would have swapped power boards so I could at least have one working console between the two but unfortunately everything is on one board on the revised systems.

There is a fuse that can blow on these consoles, that might be your issue with console two.

Specific known fuse or would I just need to hunt around on the board?

    Progress!

Console 2 is now working! I ended up jumping a fuse and it works perfectly.

However I just tried the same thing by jumping each fuse individually with console 1 and I still cannot get any A/V on this. Anyone have any tips or ideas?

I can now at least say I have 2/3 of my PSOne consoles up and running :)

dont jump fuses, if you do that and there is still the problem that caused it to blow - you will make things much much worse.

Got any recommendations on where to start with it? Aside from replacing the fuse itself, I'm not too worried about it but if anything this is short term as I have a few systems and just wanted to get this running.

Console 1 is partially fixed! I ended up using this fix right here as I then tried RGB SCART and had the EXACT SAME problem this gentleman had:

I installed the fix and it all works great now! Over SCART... I hooked up Composite and I can now get sound but video is either just a white screen or is out of range. I guess now I have a PSOne that works great over SCART but is still busted with Composite output.
