Hi, Just installed a PAL onechip in my PSone PAL. Pirated PAL-games runs in color, pirated NTSC-games run in black and white. 100% sure I will get color with RGB-cable? Any way to get color as is? One of my 1084 screens have no RGB. Did I get the wrong modchip?
Modchip doesn't touch color AFAIK. An RGB cable will fix it but you can try this: http://www.fatcat.co.nz/psx/install/102/pm41_2cfd.html I'd wager Jinn can give you a straight answer on how to do this properly if that doesn't work or doesn't work perfectly.
Tried that fix now but just got a jumpy black and white screen. However, when I removed the cable PAL games are now in black and white too. Before I tried the fix PAL games where in color.
So I ordered an RGB cable, now NTSC games works fine on my modchip PAL PSX but I am missing some colors on PAL-games such as the color red and skin color does not show right. I am wondering maybe I shorted some chip legs when I soldered modchip to the PSX and thats why PAL games wont show color red? Or do you really need two set of PSX, one for NTSC games and one for PAL games if you dont have the magic box? Also I get these two weird vertical lines running over the screen with the RGB-cable.
I don't see how anything but the TV could be faulty if really only PAL games are affected. RGB doesn't follow either NTSC or PAL color standards. Its colors have no encoding.
I don't know about any fixes you tried. Can you undo them? Asking that because, some PAL PSX will display NTSC games in B&W when chipped, some won't (maybe the same for PS1?). If you can undo the fixes, maybe try the import loader CD?
