    Hey Guys,

I found my SCPH-7501 Playstation this morning, this was my first playstation I ever owned! However the laser/motor seem to be going bad.

I've got 3 PSOnes, so I don't mind using one for parts, is it possible to move the laser and motor assembly over? I took both machines apart and noticed that the Ribbion in the PSOne is really short and that is the only difference I can see.

Would it be possible to move the ribbion from one laser to the other?

    Thanks

I think to put a PSone laser in you would need to cut the plastic in the PS1

Actually you can just unscrew the plastic, I've gotten that far, but I don't want to destroy either laser.

I can't find anything online about putting a PSOne laser into a SCPH-7501. It the recommended laser for the 1000, and 3000s however.

*UPDATE* The laser was actually fine, it was the motor that went bad. I destroyed a PSOne motherboard earlier today so I was able to just pull the motor out of the SCPH-100 and put it on my laser tray on my SCPH-7501 and boom, my SCPH-7501 runs likes it brand new and its MUCH quieter than it ever use to be as well!
