A good friend of mine (site's at http://www.assembler.org and no, not the same ASSEMbler ) was mentioning he talked to a guy at a local game store and heard mutterings from employees that it could be down to $150, intending to slash Nintendo from the get-go.

I guess we'll all find out soon enough.

 

I've heard the $150.00 rumor as well. If Sony does that then Nintendo can kiss the handheld market goodbye.

I sure hope thats sarcasm. It seems ridiculous to say Ninty's handheld market will die. I think both comapanies will succeed very well. Its called competition. In fact, it would make things better if Xbox made a Handheld as well! Plus it would be awesome!

didnt sega do this already in the 90s with this navi saturn that had a lcd display ? :-D

and i think for the xbox there was also a device to put a lcd on it ok both where not really mobile but who cares =)

 

Hitachi Saturn NAVI

Actually the HiSat NAVI was a good deal smaller than it's parent model (although mostly due to the PSU being external).
It's form factor allowed it to fit perfectly between the front seats of late 90's Nissans as well as most other Japanese vehicles.
