okay, its been bugging me for quite some time, and as it finally got me mad enough to post it here.

my problem: the analog pad of my PSP 2000 sometimes "acts on its own", causing games to get input without me touching the pad. (good examples are the metal gear acid games, where the camera is controlled by the pad. it simply starts bouncing around even if i leave the console alone on the table)
is that a common problem and is there an (easy) way to fix it?

Have had to replace the thumbstick (the whole thing) before when I was doing repairs for a shop. Bit of a bitch as the console has to come a far way apart (PSP1000 is easier).

Analog stick was always crap. Not hard to fix though, can get replacements easily from eBay...

    NOPE.

Well explaining it well, if it's failing and the owner didn't ruin the device screws opening/closing multiple times (oh by the way only PSP-1000 suffers of that due to the fact the analog is attached to the front panel) it can be due to mechanical wear and tear.

If that's the case replacing the whole thing is the only solution.

well, i went with opening it up and loosening the screw of the analog pad, retightening it and doublechecking the screws of the case after reassembling it. for now it works... if it fails again, ill go and get a replacement pad.

    thanks everyone :)

If that fixes your problem permanently it was just having poor contact with the motherboard. ;)

    At last i've right XD
Analog must be changed whne don't work one direction or the direction where it's moved cause the player walk slowly.
Another test it's the cursor in the browser.
