This will probably start to be the case, young ones choosing games with low battery life, thinking that will make the game better, but I really think in the last bit of Rand D Sony will solve this problem to a degree. They also have another problem with the battery, I don't know if you guys are aware of it but retailers and others are complaining the PSP is alarmingly hot to touch, this has retailers worried it could potentially burn their consumers, so I reckon Sony has to do something with their current battery.Adding a cooling device would create far more havoc on the battery front.
The battery should only get hot when its charging. Unless there is a short like with those Nokia batteries. If the device is getting physically hot to the touch, I wouldn't want to place any bets on its lifespan, especially with optical media... I suppose they could stick a bigger heatsink and fan in there, but then you have added drain on the battery. I think this is going to be an interesting topic of future discussion, once the device is out!
Well my laptop runs hot too, even when not charging... and I think the PSP has got more CPU power (333mhz vs 133mhz) :smt043
Yeah but thats the CPU/Chipset/HDD getting warm, not the battery. You should feel the heat off my Mrs' P4 2.8Ghz laptop, you could jam a baguette in the thing between the screen and keyboard, and use it like a panini grill!
Mmmmm ete! And maybe the PSP is getting hot because of the chips? There are quite a bunch of small high-speed chips chucked in there, I wouldnt be surprised :smt042
That's actually what I was on about, when I said it wasn't the battery in the PSP getting warm on its own accord.
wtf nintendo mad? plz dont do that to me , for those who cant speak spanish, that means "repeat after me, i dont understand spanish? i am gonna kick the fuck out of you (it actually sais i am gonna give you in your mother) but it means i am gonna kick the fuck out of you" :smt043
