how is that a better question? Anyway, i have got everything i need it seems, apart from the emulator SDK... I installed codeWarrior 1.1 SP1, and it even detected i use visualStudio.net and installed a bunch of stuff so that i can use vs to dev for the psp! But, i am yet to get it working... anyone else got any further?
I'm trying to make a downgrade patch from a PSP with Firmware 1.52 to 1.51. I currently have it to display downgrade & to allow it to run on a system with already the upgrade. It's a first step since those are the only USA patches available. Next would be maybe to 1.50, then to 1.0. I'm using the hex editor in Visual Studio .NET 2003 to edit the patch files. Maybe an SDK would help.
heh, your not going to get the PSP to downgrade by hex editing, there are quit e a few checks performed by the system before allowing files on flash to be messed with. If you are truely interested in PSP development, get the homebrew (aka legal) devkit here: http://oopo.net/consoledev/files/psptoolchain-20050625.tgz along with: http://ps2dev.org/files/pspsdk-1.0+beta.tar.gz It's progressed quite a bit recently. Also, check out the dev forums here: http://forums.ps2dev.org/viewforum.php?f=14 and http://forums.ps2dev.org/viewforum.php?f=19 Also, check IRC #PSPDev on EFNet or Freenode.
