*SOLVED* PSP - Custom firmware for 6.31 I have a PSP-1002 (1000), and I would like to put custom firmware (CFW) on it. However, I know you need a Pandora (TOOL) Battery to do this. The main/motherboard has the numbers IC6001. Question is, can it be done without one? I have not done anything with PSP's for ages, since my launch model (which was also a 1002) that had the firmware 1.50
Thread crapping / traffic redirection like this is not tolerated. If someone can help you, this help shall come in due course. In response to the OP however I remember opening my battery and making an incision to break a circuit, but in the end I went back to stock firmware - not because I bought so many games off PSN but because it just worked and did everything I wanted it to and CFW seemed like more trouble than it was worth. I can't remember exactly which part was cut but you had to literally carefully saw off the battery casing to get access to it and I'm not sure if newer firmware solved the bug, but I doubt it.
you lift a pin (or cut a trace) to the eeprom in the battery, this makes the the serial number to be FFFF - therefore pandora. or something along those lines - not done it for a long time.
it depends on with version your psp is running and what games you have on hand. Older psp OS versions can be hacked using savegame xploits and I remember using GTA Liberty city stories for it. To make a PSP Pandora batery you can "soft"hack it with an already hacked psp or do the short wire trick. I done it with a wire from 1 pin to another Without lifting a pin, I also installed a swith. Disable and enable pandora. You can also buy this version from anywhere. Take a look at google for some guide's Good luck and have fun
Haha, yea... I remember the GTA hack... My friend (who I borrowed it off of) thought I was retarded, because he had never herd the word 'downgrade'... I did try to make my own Pandora Battery. I can not remember what happened to it. But I think I followed the incorrect guide. Then again, I was new to electronics and a plain no0b. But yes. Good idea putting a switch. I will do that to mine now, and follow another guide this time... Thanks!
