So I'm having a problem with my DTP-T1000 development tool. Every time I boot it up, the power LED just flashes green and nothing shows up on neither the PSP controller screen nor the monitor. I found the manual online (https://fccid.io/document.php?id=494959) and all it says is that the flashing green light means the tool is still booting up, but after leaving it for about 20 minutes I decided this was bullshit. When I look through the fan vent in the back, I can see a solid red light on the board. I've previously owned a working T1000 but I can't remember whether or not it had the same red light on. Any help?
Doesn't that restore the unit to its original factory settings? AKA. wipe the firmware? I definitely don't want to do that if I don't have to.
Got this from this thread http://assemblergames.com/l/threads/help-dtp-t1000-psp-system-software-mode-black-out.53592/ And then there's more about it here (a horror story in this case!) http://assemblergames.com/l/threads/dtp-t1000-password-reset.44153/ I realize that you've probably already searched the forums for all this, but it's here anyway. Hope this is of some help.
I've noticed the T1000 takes an eternity to boot, but 20 minutes seems too long. Did you also toggle the power button on the PSP controller?
Yes, I toggled the power button and even tried booting the system with the PSP switch set to 'hold'. Yeah, thanks for the info, but I've already seen it.
It doesn't wipe the firmware, it should just reset to 1.0... Then you can upgrade it back to whatever. I haven't played with mine in a while, but I'll try powering it up and check the lights on the board, but I think that's probably normal. Have you tried connecting it to via a web browser? Does that work at all?
But that's the thing, I was under the impression that it was impossible to upgrade without the necessary files. I've tried connecting to it via web browser but I think the IP was changed from the default. I haven't tried wiping the network configuration yet, so I'll give that a try and see if it helps.
So I tried booting it holding the network init button, but now it's just flashing orange. Should I just wipe the firmware anyway?
If it's not doing anything else, you might as well.... As far as I know, you can't truly 'brick' one of these, you can always force it back to the original factory defaults. That will reset your admin password, IP address, etc (and the FW of course). I haven't played with mine in a while, but if you want to wait a couple of weeks I'll be able to set mine up and see what the different resets do to it...
System init does not downgrade/touch the psp's actual firmware, it does however downgrade the CP firmware to 1.00, you can then update it using hw tool updates or PUPK in the case of 5.00+
