Hey guys! I've been a lurker here for a while and decided it's probably about time to join. Anyway that's not what this thread is about. I bought a DTP T1000 unit on ebay a few days ago and it arrived today. On the side of the unit there's a sticker with hand writing that infers that the firmware version is 6.38. I'd just like to see if anyone here knew how to check what the firmware version is so I can verify if It actually is 6.38 and that it hasn't been reset to the factory firmware. Forgive me if it's stupid easy. Haven't played with it at all besides verifying it powers on.
Never used one, but based on pictures and other threads I've seen (and if I remember correctly) the only ways to check the current fw installed on it are: -With the PSP-like controller that connects to the unit (it's a 'dumb' PSP that comes with the DTP-T1000; instead of a UMD drive, it has a big cable that some out of it and connects to the dev unit). This PSP-like unit basically works like a PSP, so you'll see the menu and stuff. I am unsure if the DTP may be sending a spoofed FW version though. -IIRC these dev units have a web-based interface that you can access, and it will most likely show the FW version there.
Check the psptool version (aka CP) in the web interface, also set it to system instead of debugger and it might boot if it's higher than 2.60+ Otherwise you'd have to supply the kbooti.bin for whatever version is installed until you get it to boot. I would like to add that on versions below 5.00, without the sdk and kbooti.bin, the dtp-t1000 is very much (and on purpose) a glorified paperweight.
