I'm interested in finding a community of people begining to explore the homebrew possibilities of their PSPs. It's obvious now that code can be executed from the Memory Stick, and I know people like myself are begining to exploit that option, but I haven't been able to find any sites or forums about it, unlike the GP32's robust home development community, which is quite easily Googled.

    Any suggestions anyone?

Is it just too early for the scene to manifest? Are we all still just gawking at Ridge Racers? I can't wait to get some of my own stuff up and running on this little monster.

Thanks for the tips everyone. I know I'm a newbie, but I'm part of this same family so let's be friends, right?

IMO it's too early for PSP dev, DS dev is already happening and I'm scared of the repercussions.

    Prob'ly

Interested in what you mean by that about the DS. You serious? What repercussions?

Here's what I'm scared of : The nearly inevitable law suite that will occur the first time there's a successful GBA emulator for the PSP, and the degree to which it will bring down homebrew in general. I'm scared that when (if) it happens, console manufacturers will further lock down their systems and make coding for the amateur more difficult.

Anyway I agree about it being early, but you hold the thing in your hard, and the first time you connect it as a mass storrage device to your PC, it's like... :smt023 I just know there have to be other people out there who're already thinking about this.

I've found some lame sites that say they're about it, but then just talk about how it's "coming out soon" or how "much is still unknown". But that's all hogwash now - it's out and the file system is open. There's a directory on the stick just specifically for loading executables.

I can't get my mind off it!

I'm scared that the system will die of an early death, that Nintendo will make more and more elaborate protections as the current batch is soon to be cracked. Someone has already dumped numerous DS games and the scene is getting set up. [Link Removed]

I just hope there'll be HB stuff other than emulators.

    No acknoledgements?

What do you mean "no acknowledgements". Does it need an acknowledgement when there's a gaint red watermark covering the entire subject of the picture? So territorial! (oh do you mean direct-linking??? well that's unforgiveable. another story entirely. maybe that's his own site.)

Whether oopo is a member or not, he sure is tallented at PSP hacking and I think we should just leave him alone and see what sort of goodies he comes up with, after he un-fries his PSP that is.

Territorial maybe, but was a perfectly valid question, even if it has a big watermark on it. Interesting to see Gizmondo doing the original pilfering though.

Kinds sad, but funny they screwed their PSP's, and the guy's amazement it charges "without intervention" made me chuckle.

Boy I can't wait for some arselicker to start a flame war between our forums... you know who you are...

Flame war.... I hate that. Hope it dosen't happen at all. Ugh. God. HATE. THAT.

As for screwing up his PSP, it was worth it in the name of science I figure, and also I think someone will be able to flash the original firmware back onto the unit. I'm pretty sure it'll be okay in the end. Though it makes me sick to think about that happening to my own.
