I think its cool... if a developer of a well respected series thinks that a game simply wont work on a handheld, i should think they know what they are talking about... plus, taking a well known style and giving it a new kind of gameplay is a brave and intresting thing to do... im sure it would have been more simple for them to make 'MSG 2: Pocket Edition' Konami are not EA... they have far too much creativity to just update engines and re-skin games to death. Just my point of view! )
What you say it true adam-james but I think what Evangelion-01 is getting at is that fans of Metal Gear don't really want a card game. I loved Phantasy Star On-Line but I thought that card based version on the Game Cube was complete pants because that's not what PSO was all about. I'd have to agree with Evangelion-01 here, Metal Gear was one if notthe only game that I was interested in on the PSP and now that interest has gane because card based games just don't interest me what so ever. I get what you are saying, but there is a fine line between PSO EPIII's card style and MGA's style. With PSO III, it was more of a chess/dice game that was extremely boring and had zero substance. However, MGA's style in my opinion should be the standard for card games in general. With normal card games, there are very few variables in terms of style, and follow a set of strict rules. However, MGA is more of a interactive style, somewhat of a mix of card battleing, Skies of Arcadia battles, and mario party lathered on to a very interactive looking game. Personally, I think MGA is fresh air for the series, and will be a very interesting launch title. The only thing I think will suck is the apperant lack of voice acting, but that is a very small thing.
This is Archaic news, anyway. I think Mga will be fun. I would like a full fledged mgs game, but i guess this might be fun, in a wieird sort of way. The story is the biggest confusing part. Kojima said 3 was the last in the series. (!) maybe that just meant it actually takes place at the END of the metal gear timeline (!) ??? With Kojima, you can never tell.
Don't be too sure, Kojima has purposly lied in the past to hold back info (AKA: Withholding Raiden by switching character models, etc). Loads ammount of cash for Konami = More Metal Gear games. Hell, he even said that there would be more metal gear games, just not in the same style.
He also said mgs2 was the last in the series, too. And he mentioned that there were no character changes or time changes in mgs3. When i saw "Raidenovich" on the mgs3 character thing, i was all...shit. p.s. do you think he is being to out in the open about big boss?
Eh, doesn't bother me one bit. Wanted to play as big boss since Metal Gear was releaed, and I now have my wish. Only bad part is that magazines and the inrternet have already spoiled a good bit of it...Sorta wished he did the same thing with MGS2 and not release any new info until the game was released.
