So I joined the darkside and got myself a PSP.. this is btw why I'm not a proud owner of TOOL, as I bought this about a week before they started showing up.. OH: Now for the problem.. I've been trying to add some of my PSX games to it using PopstationGUI, adding some homebrew stuff like PSPSeq and some photos. The trouble is that the data in the end ALWAYS ends up being corrupted. :banghead: I've tried to format the card mutilple of times on the PSP, copying the data both through a USB cable AND through a memory card reader.. and none of it helps. Am I supposed to copy it in a speciall way or wtf?
windows sometimes have problems in writing lots of datas to MS.... just be really sure windows have REALLY finished his business or you'll get sucj problems over and over there's some software that moves the files and VERYFIES them afterwards, but i have no idea how it is called for what concerns popstation, i find the old version more successful in making working files... also the are different versions of the tool...
Yep, this was the same problem for me. Usually I had to wait around 2-5 minutes after transferring ~10MB of data. Of course I was using a USB port from 97', so it was slow as hell anyway. babu, are you using USB 2.0?
Thanks I'll try to copy some more times. I use PopstationGUI 3.00 beta.. don't know what version of popstation that comes with it. edit: yeah, USB 2.0
just to make sure, your psp is homebrew enabled/hacked correct? If you keep on having issues, I'd be concerned about the stick itself. There's been alot of fakes going around lately, so you may have one
I'm using 3.40 OE-A, the stick is a SONY 2GB memory.. thought it _could_ be a fake.. got it from a seller in HK edit: seems to be memorystick that is the problem.. I managed to get a transfer some stuff.. played a psx game for like 10min and saved.. and the save becoms corrupt! so it must be the stick.. =(
another thing that may help in the transfer is to "safely remove" the hardware on Windows. It's been a while since i used Windows for anything, but certainly, Windows as well as Linux delay writes (on Linux up to half an hour or more), and the only way to ensure a removable drive is fully synced is to tell the OS to flush any jobs that are still pending, e.g. tellign it you want to eject the memory stick. tubo
yeah. like 10+ times on the psp and a couple of times in windows and then in psp again.. so it should be formatted atleast anyone know of any program to test the memorystick to see if it's bad? like fill the card with some predefined data and try to read it back and see if it matches?
I think that this might work for you: http://pspupdates.qj.net/PSXReality-Memory-Stick-Tester-v1-0/pg/49/aid/78729
I have yet to use popstation but I read about problems with popsloader and 3.40 OE-A. Someone posted this on the neogaf Forums: So it might not be the MemStick's fault after all.
