I still want to know the exact clarification and categorisation for types or serials.. etc they must bear some specific meanings when being printed. Anyone out there with the knowledge? Rikki
Region encoding. Each region has it's own base code and what follows is the product code. Again a game in two different regions will have different product codes since each sce region will handle products only in their region.
Sure, the 3rd letter usually for region... U or E for Americas or Europe.. but what about these X letterings?
Can be for many things. I think they separate 3rd & 1/2nd party software. You'd pretty much have to compare games to figure out the system for it but it's not really anything cryptic.
The games may have been released seperate but not on a 2 in 1 disc like this. Some other 2 in 1 discs were released I think.
I'm interested in the file structure of this UMD... Maybe it splits into two individual eboot.bin's etc.. Or all in one.. hmmmm any thoughts?
Probably no different then ps2 demo disc. Just a simple app loader to boot the elf/eboot of the other game (eboots are nothing more then encrypted elfs). None come to mind. All 2+ in 1 that came out in japan where all multiple disc sold in a bundle. The only other types I know of are UMD Movie & Game in one but other then demo disc, I think only 1 came out (stealth + wipeout demo).
Heres something interesting - Final fantasy. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_nkw=...p+photo&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313 I'm at work and blocked from the actual listing so can't say how good it may be.
It's been on eBay ages and is sadly far too overpriced. Also, it's 1.00 so probably final build, I think it was already bought once and relisted. Bad times Are UPDL serials trade demo UMD's? Rikki
I see, I certainly could not afford it and as you say if its a final build I would not fork out that sort of money. Bad times yes - but...its nearly Christmas : )
you can ask the same thing for every proto/review version seen here xD Each one got his sources, suppliers or methods UMD music and UMD movie protos are not common, but like ShovelFriend prooved it.. they exist too :s so many things to hunt!
It's true, always finding new things out about this system, it's fun, got to preserve these UMD's.. I heard in some places people just throw them away :-( Kind regards to all fellow psp fanboys Rikki
Thanks for the info, I certainly would not buy it ifs its just retail - not that I can afford it anyway.
The pictures I posted were from a year or more ago. I haven't seen this item in some time. Oddly enough I just ran across the UMD at the store yesterday while I was cleaning up and the number covered up in the picture isn't a fingerprint number to identify who was assigned the disc. It is a clearly marked ULUS number. I'll try and remember to bring the disc home tonight and share. This means this was to be a seperate release. If it was to be packed in as a system bundle or a buget 2 for 1 title I can not be sure. Perhaps I can find some paperwork with a little digging.
