Greetings all, Those who know me well know I've been buying up UMD for nearly 10 years on various forums, going from having just one Jackass UMD (Bought from DreamTR on these forums, many years ago) To having nearly 500 unique UMD in my collection.. Being an older fart now, I feel like I should at least share what's out there, bang the psp drum a bit. Share the love and all that... With that being said, I give you... PSP Browser - UTST-99261. The screenshots below show a little bit more about this unique UMD. It appears to be a web browser alongside a MSduo stick explorer. Do you want to see more UMD and some small writeups? Please let me know in the comments and posts below I'm happy to keep this running..
I recently got out of collecting gaming stuff, but I was doing pretty good with PSP 'check discs' myself! Not quite to your numbers, but I created a website for them here: http://psp.handheldmuseum.com/ I never really finished it, but the 'Test Disc' section is everything I had at the time... I think only the EU demo disc section I hadn't finished, I may still finish up the site just for a 'history of my collection', but I figured people here might like to see some of this stuff too.
Any thoughts as to why they would have burned a UMD of a simple web browser at all? Was it just a matter of easier logistics for testing? It seems strange that this wouldn't have just been delivered on Memory Stick...especially considering it was eventually bound to end up in the system firmware...right?
Memory Stick PRO Duo was not cheap in 2004. Also 2gb+ memory cards were available only later, early memory cards has smaller capacity than UMD.
The memory cards were not truly cheap any time during the system's lifetime...and for good cause. xD ...but this ISO seems to clock in at ~19MB, an easy fit on even the smallest and cheapest Memory Stick Pro Duo.
