I just got a PSP and want to get some games for it, but being that the handheld is still sort of new, the games are expensive brand new and used. I want to make sure what I buy is going to give me hours of fun. What do you suggest guys?

  3. I heartily recommend a DS.

    ---

Outside of being snarky, I recommend Darkstalkers, Street Fighter Zero 3 Upper Whatever, and Lumines. Wipeout is also enjoyable, but your mileage may vary - it's essentially the same thing as it was back on the PS2, N64, and PSX. Still, if the idea of that thrills you, as it does me, then by all means.

Also, I hear Sakura Taisen is receiving a port by way of a collection of the first two games in the series! It's an event that would cause me to lean towards purchasing one, were they not so expensive.

Let's not forget the idol porn games. Like the man says, you can enjoy them anywhere.

I haven't had faith in Nintendo since they released the 64. Plus, I just spent $250 on the PSP. I can't exactly just pull more money out to get another hand held ;-)

I'm into RPG, shooters, puzzle games (sorta tetris style), i'm not into sports games.

  7. Go Lumines for puzzlers then - it's a lot of fun.

In shooters, there's precious little available in the US, but since the PSP is region free I suggest you hurry the heck up and nab Sengoku Cannon before the offer expires. $20 bucks is a helluva deal.

Also a must-have if you call yourself a shooter fan is the upcoming Gradius Portable. Comprising I-IV and Gaiden, there's no reason why you shouldn't spring for this title. I might even end up buying it, though I neither have a PSP nor intend to buy one. It's just that awesome of a concept.

Yeah I also recommend Lumines if you like those sort of games. PQ is also pretty good. Its like IQ on the PS1 if you remember that

Just of the top of my head.

Puzzle games - massive yes for lumines. But if you fancy something more try kollon, it is rock hard but quite fun.

Of course if you haven't got a version of puyo puyo fever, get that going. Quality puzzle game, again hard so it should last you. Haven't got puyo puyo 2, so I can't comment - but it should be good.

Star soldier is a solid enough shooter, nothing special, but cheap and good enough fun till you get bored.

Bomberman panic. Like the virtual boy bomberman game. Again if you don't already own a version, it is cheap and you can't go wrong with this.

Princess Crown - playable rpg even in japanese and awesome to boot.
