Sony Europe have filed a rather interesting patent application for an RC Car equipped with a camera and speakers that's controlled by a PSP. I certainly think that this could be an interesting application of the technology. Turning your back garden into an alien landscape in real-time on your PSP screen would be quite cool. I can imagine quite a few interesting possibilities for this. Maybe not on this generation of PSP, but potentially the next. It's probably not something that'll appeal to all of us, and will most probably be aimed at kids, but I think this is really cool and creative. Full article with cool little diagrams.
That sort of thing isn't really that new. Over here Takara Tomy released a remote control car that used your mobile phone a few years back. Still, if incorporated well in to a game it could be fun. Not sure how it would work though. Yakumo
WANT Plus, with if the car is controlled by the psp, someone would probly write a program for psp's with custom firmware to make the car drive its self.
Yeah, I've seen those nifty little cars you control with your phone. I did contemplae the purchase of a WonderSwan a few years ago just so I could get a WonderBorg. Have you seen those big RC Gundam Zaku 'bots that have a camera in the head and a real firing BB gun? Very cool, very expensive. So yeah, I love this kind of stuff.
It is possible. Bluetooth or wifi can be used as a frequency for this and PSP..so it would be great idea to control RC car with next generation PSP. Click here for more information.
I completely forgot all about this. Shame they haven't done anything with the technology over the past three years. Maybe they'll release something for the Vita? I still think its a pretty cool idea.
