Now, I like my PSP and even although there is no decent games for it yet - I can see a lot of potential. I like the hardware, it's small enough to go into my pocket, looks ok and lasts a good amount of time on one recharge. It's got a lot of features, great connectivity and has a good homebrew scene. The only real problem for me is the screen. It's bright, colourful and big. But it is slow. Really slow. Sometimes when playing GTA it looks like my guy has 10 legs. Every time I turn the car the street disappears in a dark grey mess. It renders what could have been a good game almost unplayable. Surely there is some kind of solution to this? A work around, a software trick, anything at all... I can't wait for Sony to eventually bring out a better version, and most of all I can't afford it. Do you think developers will ever try to compensate for this? I read an article years ago that said TFT screens were slow, but it was beginning to improve thanks to some "clever software". Surely there is some kind of technique that can be deployed to over come this, or at least help it? Tony
My TFT monitor has no such effects so mayber your PSP has a cheap arse TFT screen in it? Would answer you questions to why it blurs so much. Yakumo
It's not your PSP, it is probably the game. GTA for the PSP, most of the time it blurs up. They used the same Renderware engine, which if you ever played the PS2 versions, there were a lot times where the game blurs up or draws the buildings if you move around too fast, which is seen a lot in Vice City.
It's a trick used to hide the fact that the ps2 can't do better graphics and avoid it looking all shitty when you drive super fast. I am suprised they did the same on psp.
id imagine without the blur it would look very choppy adn fuzzy, i was lucky to win it on psp, and i must say its not really that bad, in fact the psp version is the least glitchies as well as fastest loading one in the serise.
my cell phone and my gameboy micro fit in my pocket. My psp doesn't even close to fit in my pocket. It reminds me of the gamegear days. Gotta have something to carry it in. Speaking of that, I love the new PSP commercials where all these guys (yeah, males only, except for that one girl who steals it to just to throw it) toss the psp across long distances to eachother. I especially like how they were all so hardcore-looking. When I dropped my psp on the carpet once, it actually didn't start for the rest of the day. I was about to do something when it magically turned on again. Also, if the PSP commercial wanted to be a bit more accurate, they should have made each one of those guys wait for their respective load times.
in vice city and GTAIII you could deactivate the motion blur in the options menu. I have the xbox version. Hope that's possible in the PSP version, too. Could you check this please? Otherwise I'm not going to buy this game - I hate these stupid blur effect. It's only nice in replays.
It's the game i'm afraid it was a great dissapointment to see they had put in the fucking motion blurr it's especially annoying when your walking around and there is no option ot turn it off. Funny thing is it's rarely mentioned in reviews of the game eventhough it's clearly visible all the time.
