PSP Testing Tool DVD Drive

Hello!

(I assume this applies to the Development Units as well)...

Has anyone tried using a different IDE-based DVD drive on these units, rather than using specifically the Panasonic SR-8589-C ones.

My tool's DVD drive is making some scratching noises and pretty sure it might need to be repaired or replaced :|

 

I know someone who had it ship with another drive (swapped by the previous owner) and of course it wasn't working until he bought a SR-8589-C and replaced it.

 

any one tested is it work IDE CF card adapter ?

 

Not to my knowledge, even if we did though, it could only use one DVD image at a time, it would also need to emulate an IDE DVD drive, not a HDD.

 

if CF card not work, I looking try IDE ODE drive
