o/ I'm out and a bout for a very long Doctors apppointment tomorrow (a good few hours) and whilst I have a few UMD Videos to pass the time (maybe Transformers The Movie? As with the rest of my UMD I own them on DVD too) I'd like to watch my Rocky Horror Picture Show DVD. There is a small problem here in that obviously a DVD physically won't fit onto the UMD drive I tried to DVD decrypt the image but as the audiotracks are not labelled as well as I'd like, I ended up ripping it with the DVD commentary and not the movie audio... not my fault I swear Anyhow I can rip it again that's NP as after all I bought and own the original DVD. The main problem I do have though is after an hour of waiting for a conversion @ max quality using pspvideo9 the image quality was still crap. Can anyone reccomend a tried and tested means to do it in the PSP's alleged max resolution of 480 x 272? File size isn't much of an issue now I have 32Gb of storage thanks to my Photofast CR-5400 I should point out I'm not interested in piracy, but I would like to watch material I own in a time and format under fair use policy which I find convenient for me. If the topic is a little too risque and has to be locked or deleted then it would be a shame but so be it EDIT: First pic is my original DVD to show I'm not scamming 2nd is UMD, DVD & DVD of Transformers the Movie, 3rd is UMD & DVD of Fight Club,4th is UMD & DVD of Be Cool. Hmm, i use a program called Too3GP. It is made for converting video tk mobile devices. I use it to make perfect quality videos for the iPhone. And when I say perfect k mean perfect :nod: the odd thing is that the my 3GS will actually play videos way higher than the screen resolution sk maybe your PSP can as well. Normally I use the following settings Video: 2500kbps MP4 (h264). VBR Audio: 192kbps Resolution : 640 x 480
Max resolution is 480x272 AFIK(which maintains the 16:9 ratio I think) DVD decrypter >Rip DVD Xvid4PSP>convert to Mp4 for PSP (Which is FAR better than PSPvideo9, I've been using it the last 3 or so years. And would never use anything else.) Done! Or you can use Xvid4PSP's built in DVD converter. But I hear it's rather slow, haven't tried it myself yet
First of all - whatever works. Just a minor nitpick, though, you're wasting bandwidth on a higher resolution and CPU time on the device downscaling it. Better to go with the correct res if you can.
Yes, i know that but the videos are already in 640 x 480 resolution for the most part. It just makes encoding faster on my crappy PC. I'm not really bothered about the phone using more bandwidth since it can handle it. I do understand your point though :nod:
Avidemux 2.5.4, gives best results if you know what you're doing, has a preset for PSP and is 100% free. The max res the PSP can handle is 480p, maybe up to 576p for PAL sources.
I rripped it with the correct sound file then sued Xvid4PSP. The audio channel was correct this time, but a little out of synch with the video on my lapotp so I foolishly deleted it bfore testing on PSP =/ I tried Xvid4PSP with some porn (hehe) and it worked a treat on the PSP though on laptop playback was a little jumpy... Just testing it now with Mongrels Season 1 Episode 1 (the series is AWESOME!) but I'll start the process all over again in the morning with Rocky Horror, this time giving the convrsion a fair chance on the PSP. I should have a couple of hours before I set off to get it done Cheers though guys I'll let you know how I got on
I have heard some people having audio Sync issues with different versions of it. I'm not sure which though, it's been a long time. I never had any issues. Now another program MKV2Vob I would have constant out of sync issues with some video files, even ones that needed 0 transcoding. I got too irritated so now I generally encode a test video with Mkv2Vob and see if it's out of sync or not for PS3 playback. If it is, I use Xvid4PSP because it also has presets for the PS3/360! And they work pretty well with SD content. I have not had a chance to test out HD encodes. (Mostly because at the time I hadn't upgraded my PC yet) But it's no use now since my PS3 YLOD
