Well i bought a PSP with 25€ but it is pretty beat up. The two major problems are that at the top of the screen there is red line that runs across the screen. In some games is visible, in some others not so. The second problem is that i think that the analog stick always goes down. I haven't found a game that is free roaming to test it but in pro evolution soccer 2012 the player always went down. Both problem need hardware fix or it is just a matter of calibration. I have seen the psp pixel fixer video and one other app that calibrates the analog stick. Will those two fix the issue?
The stick could just be misaligned. Remove it and place it back, with screws not very tight. It's attached to the faceplate. With the red line across the screen, quite possible the LCD is damaged or has a row of stuck/dead pixels.
What model PSP is it? You need a new LCD, however most LCD's are cheap so no huge loss Depending on what model you have, pull the joystick assembly apart and clean with 80% or higher Isoproply alcohol
It is a psp 3004, well i have found locally a replacement for the stick but lcd they are asking 35€! I tried the pixel fixer movie but nothing happend. With the device there was a memory stick pro duo. Inside there is an app that updates the firmware to play isos and use other apps in case of turning off completely the device. I bought an micro sd adapter, i just copy all the directories inside and i would be ok or i have to do some sort of "jailbreak" from the start.
I recently replaced the screen on my 3000 series PSP. I referred to the iFixit website, for details on disassembly. There are two different models in the 3000 series - LCD disassembly is different for each. Link: PSP 3000 Repair - iFixit
Ok after i finally found a screwdriver to remove the screws, pretty uncommon down here, i disassembled the unit, i slightly removed the analog from its place put it back all together and now the stick works. I removed also the screen and put it back but the line didn't go away, i guess i 'll be needing a replacement.
