hey guys, i've came with a request today and was wondering if any psvita researchers or devs with a few kiosk firmware pups since the vitadevwiki doesn't have them atm and other reasons for if these firmwares contained a *Install package files app or option after unlocking it. Thank you! if possible
Ahh i see, so the firmwares are all the same? Never knew so does the activation options only work for certain model types similar to that of the PSP? e.g Debug Type II on PSP gives more available options activated by the model version you own and not the difference in the EBOOT.PUP Firmware update made for that specific one?
All the devices download the same .pup , kiosks also known as IDUs (Internal Demonstration Units) usually are retail consoles but activated with special card (probably the same for press kits). It's not like psps, these use different updates. IDUs have some extra options but are useless if you don't know how to use them. Also take note that they automatically shutdown every 5 minutes.
Yeah that's true, but i am quite curious about the debug kits if they actually do use a "special card" to switch from Retail2DEX kinda like the Retail2IDU program. Could be possible to install the files from that card to the apps folder? (once SKFU releases that method of unlocking the Vita's memory card un-accessible folder structure)
There no automatic shutdown for games after 5min (unlocked mode) on my side. As mention in my earlier review is based on FW 1.69 (Initially it was 1.52, I updated it using a Retail PS cart game) http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?53216-Sony-PS-VITA-KIOSK-(IDU)-Review
Well, I have one at 1.61 and one on 3.15. I never tried to play any games on them for more than 5 minutes but even when I use them differently the 3.15 auto shuts down. As far as I remember there wasn't that feature on the older versions than 3.00
