G'day I bought a PSX DESR 5000/5100 (cant remember which atm) from japan a while back, and i finally got to replacing the 110v PSU with a 220v one, so i plugged it in for a test and I get the white noise screen. and then after twenty seconds it goes to the home menu. This is where my problem starts: i cannot seem to navigate the home menu. I have tried using a dualshock one controller and also the buttons on the main console. however it seems stuck, sometimes i can get it to move up and down on what i believe to be the tv tuner category (using the buttons on the unit), but no other button seems to have any effect. Extra info: I've disassembled the psx and checked all the tacts with a multimeter, all good. From a quick glance all traces/pcb quality seems excellent. the home menu has a blue swirling ball in the top right hand corner. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
open your PSX front cover, press "HOME" , you should see XMB if not, make sure your PSX is power on but in case, you PSX have problem , it still can show last TV turner channel. just can not do anythink
Sorry ricky im afraid the XMB is stuck no inputs will work, im looking for the type of error this may be e.g HDD issue, tact issue etc.
