Hi guys, I got a problem with a couple of psx. The first one is a 5100, I opened it and replaced the lens. I turned it on, it booted and then I turned the console off, unplugged it and walked away. I came back 10 minutes later, reconnected everything but the console is dead. The second one is a 7100, I replaced the burner laser, reconnected everything and booted but I forgot to connect the laser’s flat cable. I dismantle it again, reconnected everything in its proper way but the console is now dead. I tried to dismantle it and reconnect everything again but to no avail. What am I doing wrong?

Maybe the laser ribbon shorted against a grounding plate, I've had that happen and blow up a normal ps2.

Did you reconnect the cover? I vaguely remember that if you don't reconnect the ribbon cable that connects the mainboard to the top cover, the PSX won't function. I may be wrong about this though.

Actually i did that exact error one time, and in that case you are going to get like a beep and you can see the red LED, but in my case i didn’t get it

So what exactly do you mean by it's "dead"? Does it totally show no signs of life, as if there is no power?

BTW this console is a 100V console. If you live in a place that uses 220~240V, I hope that you're using a step-down transformer.
