PSX DESR HDD Swapable not married to motherboard

Okay, so I have two motherboards that I shorted because I put a psx desr 5500 PSU in a psx 5100 desr
my question is, I have 2 Hard drives with working xmbs, can I remarry the hdds to a different motherboard?

EDIT: so I did some swapping and realized that as long as a PSX HDD is formated as such, it is able to be used in another PSX (the only ones I was able to test were all 5100 systems)

the only reason I was getting the flashing red light was because of the 12 pin ribbon cable that connects from the top of the PSX Shell to the HDD (the ribbon is responsible for the HDD LED lights and the front LED lights, without it, the PSX will not boot.

HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE IN THE FUTURE

AFAIK, yes. There's no need to "remarry" actually, since the data is encrypted with the drive's ID.

Last time I tried I got the flashing red and green light when I plug in the PSU, and then no power when I swapped the hdd
i'll try again with both hdds to make sure it wasn't a ribbon cable to the top cover not getting contact error.

the problem with the LEDS flashing was the 12 pin ribbon cable that connects from the HDD to the top shell.

IS THERE ANYWHERE I CAN BUY RIBBON CABLES LIKE THIS CHEAPLY?
