Well mine came today. Fast shipping. A couple of issues though I'm hoping people could help with. They smell a little weird, whatever it is, it is really quite pungent, but this is not a problem for now. Anyhow first and foremost there is no DTL model number on the rear or anywhere I can see for that matter. It is just normal SCPH. Also the cables are at different lengths. You would think if you are going to produce something you would standardise things like this to an equal length. I think this is because SCPH-1010 and SCPH-1080 are slightly different. I am starting to suspect these are not made by Sony but someone homebrewing them with a standard controller and the pinout (which is available even here). Does anyone else have a set of controllers and do they come with standard cable lengths or the DTL part numbers? I'm contemplating opening one of them up to see wa gwan inside. I only bought them because I am too much of a retard to build my own but I also want the genuine article EDIT: Opened one, it had what appears to be the seller's signature on the back of the PCB. Opened a retail model I have, the printed board is identical. No DTL markings. No prototype changes. Are they genuine or reproductions? I'm guessing reproductions which is not what I wanted to hear. If I knew this beforehand I wouldn't have bought them
Hey LeGIt, Can you post pictures of the front/back/ and inside. I remember reading somewhere that the early DTL-H100X models did come with blue controllers, but I don't think I've every seen a picture of them or a picture that showed the model numbers either. -Disjaukifa
on my hand, only early proto Controllers come with no any words on back side Controller. after that.... all is SCPH mod if blue/green Controllers, it will come DTL....
If they are not genuine, and the seller didn't state anywhere that they were not genuine, send them back. However, I wouldn't suggest telling them that you opened them to find out, as they'll probably refuse the return on the grounds of 'they've been meddled with'.
I couldn't do that as it would be immoral mooseblaster, but also Hi_Ricky is the seller's friend and has seen the thread so I'd be rumbled regardless Besides there is no law preventing one from looking inside and the bulk of the complaint is with regards to the information on the exterior, or lack of. They were listed as DTL-H2000C but there is no DTL markings anywhere on them. The listing only had a picture of the topside I'll take a pic with my PSP-450 one moment... May be hard to make out but have my DTL-H2000 plugged into the Toshiba Tecra 520CDT docking station, the controller is plugged into that but the controller is not the DTL-H2000C advertised, it says SCPH-1010, the other is SCPH-1080 but both come with a serial connector. The lack of DTL is making me think they could be reproductions, hence need to check with other owners. Do other owners say DTL-H2000C or something on the back of theirs or SCPH?
If I had to venture a guess, it sounds like they took a regular Digital Playstation pad and re-wried the end to be a serial connection instead of the regular playstation connection. I could be completely wrong here, but I just don't see Sony labeling something SCPH-1010 or SCPH-1080 when it really is DTL-H2000C, but maybe its just a part number that Sony associated to the Playstation Dev Kit and just used a regular Digital Controller Pad for casing :shrug:. DTL-H2000C only on early PSX pack ... after that....all is SCPH so what is early one? if you find out DTL-H2000 on board have many wire to mod. this box will come with DTL-H2000C ...
Meh that is sad to hear HI_Ricky. I don't really want to cause problems for lingjr but I purchased in the belief they were DTL-H2000C but evidently they are not I don't really want to do a PayPal chargeback for not as described as it will be unfair for me to recieve the full amount when I can still make use of them, but that said if I knew in advance they were not the DTL-H2000C I would not have bought them HI_Ricky - Is there any chance you could speak to lingjr on my behalf to work out a way forwards? I'm not sure I can explain it in a method he will understand. EDIT: I just sent lingjr a message via eBay messaging also.
lol , btw at the DTL-H2000 kit , even it come with SCPH-10xx one, they also call DTL-H2000c in packing list . so i don't think can help to speak your issue to lingjr. Sorry
