    This is a DTL-H1000H

I've never ever seen one until now. I won this on Yahoo Japan for £3, and can't find any documentation on it

The unit is very badly sunfaded, but thats ok cos it's standard PSX grey, so I can replace the lid (The underside is just fine)

I have yet to check if this thing still works

Just wondering if anyone had any info atall on it? Thanks

    Andy

Seems like a early debugging station.

I saw on Ebay a while ago a similar debugging station from seller "DevBX"
that was marked "SCPH-1000" and "NOT FOR SALE - SONY".

Those are the very first model of debugging station, I don't believe that there are any major differences between those and the DTL-H1000 other than the case obviously. These are obviously rarer than any other debug playstation but other than that its basically the same.

That SCPH-1000 was just a regular Japanese retail playstation I believe, and FYI devbx is actually Assembler.

On another note, when I'm looking at the laser position, it looks very non-standard, but i havent got a spare standard jap psx to compare with. This could mean that I actually cannot replace the uv stained lid :( Anyone notice that?

No, this SCPH-1000 by "devbx" was a debugging station
in a SCPH-1000 case. It had an ACCLAIM sticker on it
with "NOT FOR SALE - SONY"

    See here:
    http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=62054&item=8265442549

I know that SCPH-1000 is early Japanese retail model.

The laser position is normal for early units (like SCPH-1000) or
all debugging stations and Yarozes (based on early model PCB).

You can replace ALL parts of the case with parts from
    SCPH-100x consoles. But don't use a SCPH-1000 for this
since it's rarer, better buy an american SCPH-1001 model
    cheap from Ebay.

You can replace the (for sure) damaged laser with
one from PSone (SCPH-102) when you swap the
laser housing (take of the grey housing and put the original
black housing). The ribbon cable will fit 100%

    Nice catch for £3!

To clarify things, what you guys are saying is that the one sold on eBay and this one FaZy has here are the exact same, only that one is in a different case?

OT: How were you able to buy off Yahoo Japan? ;-)

As everyone else has said, it's the first model debugger for the PS1. Only given to early developers long before the console launched

Yep - the DTL-H1000H is the most ancient of debugging stations. I don't know if there is any difference between it and the DTL-H1000, apart from the colour!

You'll find it only plays Jap games too....

The one Assembler had on Ebay was a regular Jap SCPH-1000 I believe, but was an early model that was sent out to developers...right???

Yeah, I think you're right, it is just a regular SCPH-1000 but it was in acclaim's hands because it was given to them before the release of the Playstation in the US. Obviously Sony didn't want it being sold to the general public at that stage, hence the not for sale sticker.

But in the auction text, he wrote it boots CD-R media and "NOT MICROCHIP".

It looks like a retail console, but has a different sticker on the bottom.
