    Hello

    PSX DVR.jpg

I bought new PSX DVR (7700) in Japan early 2005 and brought it back home in United Kingdom, it never been power up at once because I don't have the stepdown plug. (Stupid me)

8 years later I finally decided want to try out my PSX for the very first time but I need some advice from any members here who actually have the experience and knowledgeable of buying the stepdown plug. I have done some the research but it was lacking of any quality information and I don't want to buy any stepdown plug as I want the high quality product that is risk free/prevent from damaging the PSX system and my home socket.

Back of my PSX box, Power is 100V/80W in Japan.

so I ask here If anyone have bought the PSX DVR and Stepdown plug in United Kingdom.

    Thank you

Any step-down transformer that can output more than 80W (like say, 100W) will do. I picked up a used 400W step-down transformer (220 -> 110V) from the Cash Converters for cheap, and it works well.

The mains here is 230V. Small differences do not really matter.

did used to have an industrial transformer by bosch, for outdoors powertools! (used hazard yellow mains couplings for sockets)
get a surge defender AFTER the stepper, you should be golden! :friendly_wink:
    ....
don't like outside linking but have a look at this link, may help? (custom)

    cool! :friendly_wink:
    ...
the only overseas item i used the hulking box for was the USA dc, was heavy!
got a stepper with the dc but frankly, i don't trust it! (using a friends professional distribution board in the meantime til $$$ is better)
looks like an ordinary cheap-shit phone charger does this dc transformer! :?
[f*ck! image collapse tags would also be fantastic here! can't figure out this CRAZY site ui, nor can i shrink the images to expandable icons]
    ...
    [edit]
blame shitty korean tech for lackluster image quality! (just image of dc i'm afraid, not going into the cellar just for a power node!)

The description says "Please note : please make sure the device you have does not exceed 45 watts ( Max Load ) check our other listing for higher wattage equipment"...
If I was you, I wouldn't buy that thing. A stepdown transformer that outputs 80W (up to 100W as maximum load) should do the job fine with no overload/overheat. At least it's the suff I have for my DESR-7000 and never had any problem with it...

    ^^ THAT!
if you can afford it, get a variable transformer, something you can lock in! (keypad/dials)
there's plenty on that link (a bit pricey, but last a lifetime) what you require besides the correct output is REGULATED!
you can get the small transformers (like the dc one i mentioned) but i've never used it long-term, seller swore by it, i'm not him!
    ...
make sure whatever you get, it output not greater than the demand, and make damn sure it's REGULATED! (unregulated will fry shit in no short order, regulated is automatic and levels with the demand/drain set)
