Hi, I recently tried to re-build a modified ridge racer image (from hd), I'm using this tutorial http://www.zophar.net/tech/files/thepsxdoc2.txt except I've done a cdgenerator project then converted it to cti with ccs2cti, so I can actually produce a valid image the problem is with cdda tracks, i think my cdgenerator project is ok as i added 1 track per wav, at the end the 2352 iso file is 300MB while original clonecd image is 450MB, there may be some cdda stuff in the image as the game files are only 3MB but I just don't know why it's so small and why to use it :'( Please let me know if there's some correct way to do this, thanks
Welcome to the boards. I'd use a different method in PSX Image creation like using nero or alcohol 120%
If the original Game is only 3MB and does not contain CDDA Tracks, the Music is probably not played using CDDA. There are also many other possibilities of replaying audio on the PSX. You would have to change a lot of the Game's code in order to replay CDDA Tracks then
Thanks guys, I'll try to rephrase this, actually ridge racer has cdda audio, what' I've done is, extract the game files to my hd + extract the cdda tracks to wav, now I want to rebuild the iso from the hd and the problem is I don't know how to create an image with cdda tracks as it looks like it's not handled by stripiso or something, the audio data must be there because the iso file it created is 300MB (and the game files are only 3MB) but it's not in the bin format as are crdwin or clonecd dumps (wich are 450MB), so I basically need to know how to "REBUILD" a psx image with cdda tracks from scratch, the way the devlopers did.
Hi, just found an easy trick !! ok I just figured out I could build the game data first then add wav tracks in the CUE file ^^
Ok, for some reason I can't get the license.dat file to write to the image. I used ccs2cti, then buildcd, then stripiso, and then burned the iso. The audio files didn't write, but like you said, I can add them later. But at least it's bootable on a modded psx.
