Hi, someone can tell me diffrience between several version of PSX ( yaroze blue and other ) what can i do, or what i can't on it?
Blue - You can run imports and CD-Rs Yaroze - You can run imports and CD-Rs and play Yaroze games apparently Few people seem to know this but when the blue units are called "debug"/"debugging"/"debugger" PS it's a complete misnomer since they haven't any debugging facilities in the development sense; they are labeled "debugging station" because they are intended to be used by QA testers to literally find bugs in the game hence their ability to run CD-Rs. So if you're asking because you wish to try PS development, the blue unit offers you nothing over a modded retail console, and Yaroze offers you little more with a very limited SDK and a dead community. Personally I would use either Sony's true toolchain or 3rd party, and test my game in emulators/with an Action Replay instead of either of these options.
The blue ones will play cdr's (backups) but the yaroze will not. Both blue and yaroze will play games from all regions though.
yaroze = no piracy blue = piracy . the blue psone has nothing to do with net yaroze ecxcept for the fact that they are both dev kits . the blue psone was used by sony in official development.
net yaroze is debug but , i would definitely go with blue model . try to get one with the external powersupply that way it would be easy to replace if it dies . ypu could [probley find a laptop power supply that works.
Basically the differences between the blue(/green) debug, black Yaroze, and grey retail units is what discs they will boot. For all practical purposes you could use any one of these units for testing software. I'll summarize what the units boot. Green/Blue = boots anything Black Yaroze = Original pressed discs all regions Retail = Original presses disc from specific region (or anything with a modchip). The only thing that makes Yaroze special is this card and serial cable that comes with it to connect the console to the PC. The actual black console itself though has nothing that makes Yaroze work. As far a development goes I'm with Calpis on using an emulator for testing. You have all of the advantages of a debug console without the need to burn a disc or transfer software to a card each time you run your program, and you have some limited debug features without the difficulty of the PC cards and software (os too) that goes with the cards.
not all blue/greens will run any disc. I have some that won't output anything at all if you use the wrong refresh rate, it even affects a caetla cartridge plugged into the parallel port in the wrong mode. It appears to lock the console up completely. using an emulator is a really good idea, however you need to test on real hardware often as no emulator is even remotely accurate & while most things will happen to work fine you can run into issues.
Neither are better. Just expensive collectors items... What you REALLY want, are the ISA cards from Sony. ASSEMbler has them all I think hahaha The Yaroze scene is dead, and the SDK was just a no0by cut down version of the real SDK with manuals galore... I can sell you a PlayStation 1 LIKE a Yaroze and Debugger in one for $500 that can also play CD-RW's... Sound like an expensive, scammy rip off? Thats because its like a Yaroze and Debugger, so I will charge that much  Jokes jokes... I reccomend using Tails92 (Next Volumes) SDK. That is fantastic! If not, try the PSY-Q SDK. It is hard to set it up and get it running ok, and learning where all the directory's are, but it is also good. You can make your own COMMS cable like the Yaroze (or PSone USB), or use an Xplorer cart with CAETLA. Mine worked ok ^_^ Dip-dye a PlayStation console black. Solved
