    Hi All,
Ebay sold listings is not helping me, so I'm asking here (photo below with my username as per rules).

I have a working Saturn Dev Kit (PSYQ) with the blue cartridge and cable but without the ever important disks, Hence all I can do is play saturn games on it, it is 110V version and the saturn is dark grey (some more darkening from age happens towards the back of the saturn).

    Suggested valuations please?

looks like Saturn is pretty much stock except that SCSI socket on the side. Doesn't even have the NMI cable either nor rotary region switch. You are really asking for the Psy-Q blue cart and without necessary software really it's for hardcore collector than anyone else. I'm sure retro would chip in ith valuation when he sees this thread. :)

It doesn't need the NMI cable - that was only used with CartDev. How can you tell it doesn't have a territory switch without seeing the back, or the cart slot (which is where they often were)? It was sometimes in the Psygnosis-modded Saturns.

You don't need the disks - the software is available online and you could ultimately swap trick a CD into it. However, you need the special SCSI card for it to be any use.

The console itself isn't worth much more than a retail Saturn, especially if there isn't a controller. Does it come with cables? I wouldn't put it much more than £50 for the console ($75), although a collector might be prepared to pay a bit more - maybe $100. The cart, if it doesn't have the SCSI card, I wouldn't put at much more, either. Say $200 for the lot and you'd be doing well.

That said, CartDevs and Sophias are selling quite well when they turn up (although the Italian CartDev on eBay is WAY overpriced). Had it been complete with software, SCSI card and all cables, I dare say it would fetch far more than $200. On a good day, it could push a bit higher than $200 as-is, perhaps.

Psy-Q software :p It came with the GNU C compiler, too... plus the Sega libraries on the DTS CDs work with it. Unless you have the original discs and manuals, though, it's not going to increase the value as they are freely available.

The interface is what the Psy-Q software looks for. It was, IIRC, custom hardware and I don't think a standard SCSI card worked. Mine's a prototype, though, so that doesn't help!! :p

I once had two Psy-Q Saturn consoles and one was just like that - pretty much stock except what looked like SCSI connector at the side like in pic. The 2nd Saturn didn't have the connector but had NMI cable and region switch.

If it had the NMI cable, then either it was a Cross-modded Saturn for CartDev or a developer had CartDev and modded it themselves. Where would the NMI cable go to on Psy-Q? :p Does sound like the latter may be the case here, though. Probably lazy/cheap and had a Psy-Q already.

The mods can be seen done in a number of ways and positions - side, back or inside the cart slot. The guy who did them for Sega told me, from what I remember, that his were usually in the cart slot. My Psy-Q, and the vast majority I've seen, only has the port on the side.
