I recently got this game which looks and plays stunning, although I'm not entirly sure of how the game plays! (I keep dying :smt043 ) Is it similar to Ikaruga where you can collect certain coloured laser fire or do you have to dodge everything :smt100 ?

For example sometimes I can take loads of damage and receive Buzz Points and then the next minute I hit one laser and I'm dead! :smt067 Me no understandy :smt022 ! Could someone please give me an idiots guide to the basic principal of this game!

Ummm... it's nothing like Ikaruga. Closer to Shikigami. Basically, you get buzz points by buzzing shit (getting close to it). The thing is, the hit box is like 4x4 pixels, so hard to tell if your'e actually hitting something or not. :)

Ahhhhhh I see! That kind of explains it although it sounds how are you supposed to tell if your hitting stuff or buzzing? :-( I guess I will just av to keep playing it ;-)

You die when a bullet hits that small hit-box in the center of your craft. You buzz when a bullet hit your craft but not the hit-box.

When you buzz (and to some extent when shooting enemies), you charge up your buzz-meter and every time it maxes out, you level up (this is when you hear the computer voice say "level-up"). When you level up, there's a moment of invincibility which is propably what confuses you.

The tactic is to level up and use the invincibility to keep buzzing other bullets (or enemy crafts) as quickly as possible. It is often possible to level up once again before the invincibility runs out so you can use this to stay invincible for long periods. You also damage enemies during this (indicated by the forcefield around your craft).

It a takes a while to adapt to the system. I don't shoot at all on the first level for example and rack up around 1400 buzz points. You need to develop your own style of play to level up at the right moments, select which enemies to shoot and when. Sometimes you wait for them to release bullets that you can buzz, level up and then crash into them. After a while, you'll develop a feel for when you'll level without even looking at the bar.

Another thing you must master is how to roll. While rolling, you move and buzz up much quicker. Start a roll by tapping one direction and then immediately in the opposite direction. You will then keep rolling until you stop moving around.

There are also some other stuff that it's useful to know, like how the color of the bullets affect how quickly you buzz but I think this is getting a bit too long now.

I hope this gives you some help on the way. It's an amazing game.
