How common are the Puckman Pockimon boards?

    Are they quality boards?

I don't know anything about the game, but I know Yaton (known mostly for selling Neo Geo carts) has them for sale at his website www.arcademvs.com

Relatively uncommon & infamous. It's supported by MAME though. It's a genesis clone.

Yeah, I did a quick port of my Frog Feast game to the system (using MAME). The only issue is the missing Z80.

This should be a nice arcade system to test on, due to the use of common 8 bit eproms.

Genesis clone? Really? Interesting. I still don't see myself buying one...but its still interesting.

Side Question: Is it actually Jamma? The pictures of the board that I've seen are unkeyed...or is it just an unkeyed Jamma board?

I asked the same thing, but I thought there was a line after the 4th set of pins. (On Yanton's site).

But, is after the 5th set on a Jamma board.

It does have 28 pins a side, and I would assume they would release a Jamma board for compatibility (since it was released in 2000).

And it should technically be able to play any Genesis game (limited by size only), unless the game gets stuck waiting on the Z80 or something. The system can handle games up to 24 MBit. The input routines would also have to be modified.

And, the eproms would be easy use on the system, since they are socketed and use common 27c040 chips (for the code), and 27c020s for the sound stuff.

I guess it could be JAMMA, it'd make sense for a 2000 board. Looking at the picture, at least the ground and +5V lines are tied, which would be correct. Pin 14 doesn't appear to be connected (video ground) and pin 7 (key) does appear to be connected!

Sounds like an interesting project, there!

That sounds really bizarre. It's pretty weird that they made a Genesis clone into an arcade machine, and weirder that it was released in 2000. Is it Chinese? I don't see how else they could get away with such blatant copyright abuse (both of Nintendo and Sega).

    Yeah, it is Chinese.

I got the board in, and the board looks really good. The pictures rolls a lot though.

I tried my Frog Feast on the system, but it didn't work. There must be something else required to get the game working. I'm debugging through the original rom to figure it out.
