Hey everyone. Got a weird question. Story is I now use my 3DS as my alarm clock. I use the Mario clock function. You can use your own sounds for when the alarm goes off. Trouble is you're limited to the recorded sounds either in the unit or SD card. Can't use any music files. I've toyed around with these files trying to edit a sound clip to show up in the 3DS record menu. I've had a bit of success in that the sounds will show up on the SD card section of menu. But I can't do anything with them. Can't play or nothing. It just shows up gray instead of red like the file name is supposed to make it.

Anyone know how to put a custom sound clip in the 3DS recording menu?

My sounds are under 10 seconds, around 44KB in size, named properly, and encoded to the .mp4 the recorder uses. What gives?

I even took an original voice recording and just replaced the audio track with my own in an editor. Nothing more.

    Still nothing...

    Help?

It's not just the sound file you have to create, usually, if it is a 3ds APP file (.APP) of the mario clock program it has a counterpart .SAV file that will need to be edited to select the custom MP4 File. however, it is highly unlikely that the MP4 Compression used in your files matches the compression used by the Internal Music Program (same reason as to why a user can't slap a binary image in the dsiware directory and have it run on the 3ds.) as far as i am aware, we can't properly edit the sav files yet, but there is someone in 3dsbrew working on that, i believe.
