Here's what it shows. Is this an error message from the PC-FX or the PC-FXGA program? Can someone please translate this?
Here's a full image from the documents. The manual says: 当社の許可無く本書の一部または全部を無断で複写することを禁止します。 Which roughly translates to: There is no permission of this corporation and it prohibits the fact that portion or all of this book is reproduced with no permission. This would seem to indicate that a game devloped with the PC-FXGA software cannot legally be released on a PC-FX system.
Hmmm astouding Exiting and intresresting I think it is strange no one else, have yet commented on the case, since I think this is some serious cool stuff
I know it sucks nobody is commenting, this is supposed to be a programming thread where you should find a lot of these posts. Guess we need more programmers here. This should be always about Katana or Xcrap, come on this is PC-FX this strange, obscure... Anyway you know I already appreciate a lot your work, keep on posting mate. Sabre
Figuring out some of this stuff is a reward in itself. I got excited seeing the warning sign (as you can probably tell from the first post). It was exciting to finally see something working in Magic Engine FX. And, last night seeing it work on a real system was amazing. This is why I became interested in console programming in the first place. I had a chance to crack my first program in about 15 years. What can be better than all of that? And, I'm one system closer to cornering the market on older Japanese game systems. :icon_bigg The only big one left is the MSX Turbo R. (Not counting the PC-88xx PC-98xx, etc. computers). I've got to find an affordable one first though.
As a programmer, i must congradulate you on what you've done so far. Your ability to port to diverse systems is astounding, especally considering the documentation that is availible for many of them. I can't say i know much, if anything, about the PC-FX itself or the programming specificly. If there is anything more general that i can help with, just let me know. Awesome job dude.
I found the text of the screen in a doc file. Here's a rough translation: Request to customer This software does not make profit-making purpose It is. In addition, inside this software As for _STARTUP.O (initialization program) From NEC foam/home electronics profit The fact that it does not make purpose by condition it is used is permitted The [te] time, please as for do not alter. | Furthermore, concerning the responsibility of this software As for NEC foam/home electronics all negative number It makes the trap potato. I'm trying to figure out what trapping a potato has to do with developing for the PC-FX.
Here's a modification to the BGTest program to show some Frog Feast stuff: http://frogfeast.rastersoft.net/Files/PCFXFrogDemo.zip This will run under Magic Engine FX. It doesn't do anything yet. It should also run on a real PC-FX if it is burnt to a CD. You will need to supply a wave file for the audio track. You cam modify the CUE file to use an MP3 file. For testing I use Daemon disk tools to mount the cue file. I've still got a lot of work to do to get this setup for running Frog Feast.
That is tres cool, cdoty. I always wondered about the PX-FXGA and anyone devving w/it. Offtopic, but have you considered (for the JagCD version) having someone in the community encrypt the demo for you so the JagFree cart isn't required? Much wider audience then.
Congrats on your findings cdoty! I didn't have anything constructive to add to the thread at first, but I was always there checking the updates you posted. This shows that when you never give up, you'll be rewarded in the outcome. I've tried certain PC-Engine emulators with the .iso/.cue file you provided, but was out of luck... still some interesting goodies!
It's only for the PC-FX, and currently the only emulator that will work is Magic Engine FX. (http://www.magicengine.com/) XE is supposed to support the PC-FX, but they haven't released the PC-FX emulator yet. (http://www.xe-emulator.com/)
