I was a beta tester for infinity ward on MW2 so i got my own dev to take home, Quake arena arcade BETA was available for download on the Partnernet marketplace, Did anyone else here play it and if so, what did you think of it?
It didn't play right. Here's my question though: If you were a beta tester for MW2, IW would have taken their kit back, and why are you just now posting this...?
IW did take back their kit, even though i had it i wasn't allowed to keep it because all kits are property of microsoft, posting this now because im just new on here i didn't know anything about this site until a few days ago.
I liked it. Brought back good memories. Guess no one here played doom or quake way back when. Figures.
Ah, makes sense. Like I said, it just didn't feel right. It felt like I was ice skating the entire time, and my accuracy was shit because everything was going too fast.
I loved the hell outta Doom (still do) and liked Quake, but I can't see this working well with a gamepad. Railgunning with inferior controls? Or even worse, with auto-aim? Think I'll pass on this one. There's other shooters with loadout better suited to these controls. Wouldn't mind them releasing the additional maps onto Quake Live though, any word on that? Maybe indirectly through crossplatform multiplayer? On a sidenote: MS/id should think about bringing back the "-left"/"-right" functionality (think networked multi-display widescreen) from Doom, that might sell a couple of extra Xboxen
So we're right back at downloading partnernet apps and bragging about them in public? Great! Sorry, but I thought the unwritten agreement was something along "do whatever you want with the hardware you've paid for, but don't mess around with the online service." (both LIVE and PN). I guess I was wrong. And the story kind of proves how hard it is to find decent beta testers.
Yeah, shame on... this topic. My opinion doesn't matter since I don't have an Xbox and never played the game. On a more serious note; It's Xbox. It's a dead arcade game.
Information is not going to be censored. That said, it does say something when those that are most vocal when it comes to telling *others* to stay off PN and not download stuff from it are doing exactly that. Actions speak much louder than words. -hl718
Are you referring to me? I just don't like people leaking games, or images, or details about games. Asking about how a game that tons of people have seen feels is different.
