    Hello,

I wanted to ask you all a question i,am looking for a challenge to look into the potentials of decapping microchips.

I would like to try decapping a retro videogame or console to learn more about and maybe even reverse engineer the game or console on its lowest levels.

And i wanted to ask if any of you would know what would be a good console or videogame to start at?

Something that would require the uncapping of the microchips to learn more about its inner workings and or security features?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why not the NES/Famicom? There's so many clones out there you can get plenty of practice without destroying original hardware. The clones aren't exactly the same, but if you're wanting to reverse engineer maybe you can solve some of the clone issues as you learn. Even originals aren't exactly rare, but I hate to see it destroyed. Plus, you have the advantage of all the work that has come before you to check and help with your learning.
