Hi. Some time ago I asked for help in getting the MC exploit on my PS2 up and running and thanks to some people here it went great. However I have a quick question. Is there a way to play PSX backups on my MC exploited PS2? I have been looking online for about 3 hours now and cant find much about it. I remember reading that you could play actual PSX CD-R backups on it but I cant find the page anymore. Apprently there is also a elf file you can run that will do it, but I cant find it. In short does anyone know of a way to get PSX backups to run on the PS2? I tryed coping over the ISO files to HDL but it wont boot them even though it does show them in my list of games. Thanks and any help is greatly appricated!
There is a way to play ps1 backups through the mc exploit, but only for the v9 model. You can't play ps1 games from the hdd.
thanks guys. I was really hoping there was but its not a big deal. If I really need to play a backup I have my modchipped PSX and on top of that I can emulate PSX on my PC, Xboxs, and PSPs lol I just liked the idea of them being on the HDD for convient access. Thanks again though!
To play PSX backups on your PS2 you simply need to buy a GameShark Lite or equivilent swapping CD. Unfortunately any PSX game that uses audio tracks will not work properly. It's best to use a modchipped system for those. For anything else though just put GameShark Lite in, put in a big TOC game like Final Fantasy VII, goto disc explorer and cd music. It will stop the disc from spinning, you swap with your burned game and goto the main menu and start the game.
