Question about the Katana

Discussion in 'Sega Dreamcast Development and Research' started by velcrostrapshoes, Jan 23, 2006.

  1. Does a Katana machine function like a standard DC in the sence that it can be connected to a TV and play standard retail games just like any retail machine could? Reason being is because I'm in the market for one but that's basically all I'd use it for since I dont really know how to develop or anything. I supose I'd tinker with it and possibly get into developing some day, but for the time being i'd like to be able to actually play games on it. Is that possible?

(also, if you've got one for sale, I'm interested)

Yes, it will function just like a standard DC, but that's hardly a reason to buy it. However, if you have GDR betas or want to play multi-regions (without using a boot disk), then it may be attractive to you. I have an extra 5.16, but alas I don't have the SDK7 I need to get it functioning so it won't help you..... Still trying to snag one....
