Question about USB/DVD emulator card from DVT4 Dear friend What's the JST XH 5 pin free in USB/DVD emulator (JVS maybe?) card? 5 V input, or output? Thanks
Oy by the layout on the board, that does NOT seem to be a JVS port but a NORMAL USB port. If it was a JVS port there would be a RS485 level converter chip (8 pin). That looks like the 5 pin connector is supposed to connect to the XBOX main board, fetch one of the USB controller ports and redirect it to a standard USB connector at the IO board so you can connect USB stuff to it.
I think not because when one pin not connect xbox dont boot (led red/green). is it possible power supply 5V for I/O board? or something ?
Just measure the Voltage.. I'd assume it's USB + Sync signal which is exactly what the 5 cables in the controller are meant for. Even the connector looks like the Controller internal one. So rather than just providing the 4 USB lines on the USB Header they probably have sync included to test Controllers. It might not be driven by your bios / kernel though. If it's not for the Controller stuff it's probably a connection to the debug PC. I don't know enough about these DVD Cards but I'd assume it's the same signal as on the USB Port (J1). I can't tell wether it's a device or host port from this angle.
