Lately, I have been having some issues with my Assassins Creed disc that I won off ebay. It has scratches that are not bad enough to cause the game not to load, but cause the game to have random disc read errors every now and then. Biggest problem is I cannot install the game, since the 360 always says I have to clean the disc half way through the install. Say, for example, that I rent or borrow another copy of Assassins Creed for the 360 and install it on the Xbox and then use the disc I have now to play the game. Would that work, or will the game still crash because it has to load things from the disc?
Noooo! Don't do it! Xbox 360 games are VERY susceptible to scratches. We were always a LOT more careful about taking in scratched 360 games compared to say PS2 or even Xbox. If you have a scratched disc, take it to your local video rental store or games store. They should have a PROPER machine that polishes the disc. They'll charge you maybe $5 to clean it. Worthwhile.
