question: Final Fantasy VI Settei Shiryōhen

I'm wondering if anyone knows about this series of books that provide additional informations on FFVI story..

these are the details

ISBN 4871882993, one of six Final Fantasy VI guidebooks released in 1994 by NTT Publishing.

what iwould like to know is if the informations contained are canon or somehow "fanficted" by the authors.

Protip: "Fanficted" (IE, doujinshi) do not have ISBN numbers... ever I don't think.

 

I see a good few of them on Yahoo Japan too (for 1/3 of the used price on Amazon)

Anyway, there are many cases where guidebooks/supplemental material have allowed themselves to somehow fill in the blanks (often based on very legit source material provided from studios and such, but also sometimes just on pure assumption/fanfic level), but which later down the pipeline has been rendered entirely inaccurate/incorrect by future installments in a franchise (or later revisits to the franchise through expanded and more elaborate supplemental material covering the same stuff, usually handled by people closer to the franchise or people who own some sort of ownership over it)

 

so what i have to presume? good or fake? nobody seems able to solve the doubt

karsten, at least it seems like a legit release. No clue about how "blessed" it is by SquareSoft, though. Guess you'd have to pick it up and look at it yourself. Then evt., based on your discoveries, decide for yourself where it belongs (official canon, secondary canon, or just pure fanfic stuff)

Ahah. Wow. Am I blind or what? I didn't even see the ￥1 listed next to the second hand entries (and just quickly assumed there were none at the moment... but at second look, yup, 13 even. Blind. Confirmed.)

 

my knowledge of japanese is so abismal that it would take years for just reading the book's disclaimers :banghead:
