If I bought a cheapo converter such as: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-5-3-5-Drive...uting_CablesConnectors_RL&hash=item414d8cf76e and plugged my Corsair X32 into it (or any 2.5" SATA drive) would the PS2 be able to see the drive for use?
looks fine- I usually prefer to stick to the bidirectional ones personally- the seller's description doesn't match the title/photos as this is clearly an adapter to convert a 2.5" sata TO IDE... you might want to double-check the ata/power pitch, or you'll have to mod the adapter/run short extension cables. I really wouldn't bother with a ssd on it- IIRC ps2 only supports ata33 speed.
