first off, this is not piracy, but real copies involved. With my fat PS2, I have the flip top installed and I usually use a Gameshark CD to boot PS1 games, but some I cannot. For example, some Anti-Mod games (like Rockman 1-6, Biohazard 3, etc) boot into a black and red warning screen. Now, using the original copies (so no patches) how can I fix this? And yes, I have the GS bypass codes

    Thanks

Are you asking how to boot copies of the games on the PS2 or are you having problems booting the original stamped/pressed disks on the PS2?

Some games don't work even with modchips.

Vib Ribbon NTSC|J only works on unmodded JAP consoles. Same for Legend of Legaia NTSC|U/C , that only works on unmodded NTSC|U/C consoles.

Just use the codes for the game that bypass that like you would with a copy. Anti-Mod games will stop you from using the Swap-Trick was well as using a non-stealth modchip. And I guess some games even go a step further making sure you can't run it on the wrong region system. But the thing is there can always be a gameshark code to NOP that crap out and let you play.

I think Omega Boost is one of those games as well.

Wasn't there a game called Poprouge (J) that didn't work with chips either?

Just use a different boot disc. A demo disc, preferably the early PSX demos work well. I remember reading at some mod chip forum a long while ago that when doing the swap trick, the boot disc also counts as well. Also, check the codes to see if they are correct.

Oh, well I figured you knew about the Swap trick, but the original local region disc you swap from needs to have the same or bigger TOC. Ex: If the disc has a single data track that is 50 minutes long, you need an original disc that is a single data track that long or longer. Ideally you get the biggest PSX game you can for swapping. For games that use audio tracks, modchips are the only way to go.
