    Hello all,

I am interested in calibrating some laser units that I had purchased for the PS2.

    I am following these links:
    http://consolecopyworld.com/ps2/ps2_laser_calibration.shtml
    http://consolecopyworld.com/ps2/ps2_laser_adjustment_scope.shtml
    http://www.grmods.com/villasg/Page1_10.htm

Specifically I switched the laser from the HD7 type to KHS-400C in the following consoles.
SCPH-39001 (Reads everything, some PS1 backups are hit or miss though). Swapped the laser into a 50001 and it reads cds, but not dvds.

SCPH-50001 (Reads Dvd's and swapping out the 39001 laser it reads cds but not dvds, so the mod is good, something not tuned right on the laser).

SCPH-50001 Used to read all media but started struggling on dvd media, swapped with khs-400c and can't read anything yet. (Need to tweak this one).

The first two systems mentioned I am looking to sell eventually, and the last one is my personal console, test unit for the chips.

The BA5815FM and LA6508 seem to all be working correctly and the romeo mod applied to the LA chips.

Sorry for the wall of text. Anyhow this link (for the 3000X)
    http://www.electroschematics.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/sony-ps2-scph-39001.pdf
On page 17 of 86 at the JL608(RF DC) location which is near IC801, is that the testing point for the oscilloscope method?

    And using this link, http://gamesx.com/wiki/lib/exe/fetc...sony-ps2-scph-50000_series_service_manual.pdf

If I follow the same point referenced as JL608 on page 15 of 25 near R698 and R696 is that a comparable point on the 5000X series?

Also if I follow that logic for the points could I track down the points for other generations of the ps2? I.e the slim series, 3900X and the older fat series?

I don't have an oscilloscope at the moment but a friend of mine might have one at a mechatronics teaching shop I can borrow, just have to send an e-mail to them first.

One last thing, does anyone know of a location I can get all (or most of) the service manuals?

    Thanks all in advance,
    HaloSlayer255

Sorry if my question sounds silly, but have you reprogrammed the MECHACONs non-volatile memory after you changed the lasers ?

    Hello krKACKen,

All consoles have been switched from the hd7 laser type to khs-400c using the lenschanger software program.

    Thank you for the reply,
